Drumglass High School wins SELB Kitchen of the Year 2008 in the post-primary/grammar school section of the Northern Ireland Schools Catering Association (NICSA)

A superb accolade for Mrs Marie McGeown, Combined Services Manager for Mount Charles Catering, which has the contract for catering and cleaning in Drumglass, and her staff both past and present.

Marie McGeown said she was delighted with the award.
"Winning the Best Kitchen of the Year for post-primary/grammar in the SELB is afantastic achievement and I know, as the overall category, it is the most keenlycontested award. At Mount Charles and Drumglass High we are proud not only of ourhigh standards, but also our strong relationships with pupils, parents, teachers andgovernors. It was our outreach work, in particular, with fello partners in the school onnutrional and healthy-eating projectes tht impressed the NISCA judges. It was adaunting task to enter the competition. We had to put together a one thousand wordportfolio and twenty photograhps demonstrating how we met the criteria".

Mount Charles Catering was delighted to be nominated in the first instance by Mrs EE Donnelly, the principal and Mr B Henderson, Facilities Manager, H&J Martin. To win this prestigious award was the 'icing on the cake'
