Drumglass High School Cleans Up at BICS Awards.
Bridgid McGurk cleaner at Drumglass High School was swept away to receive the top accolade at the event run by British Institute of Cleaning Science (BICS). Bridgid was one of two Mount Charles staff members from Drumglass recognised at the awards along with Marie McGeown who was selected as a finalist for Supervisor of the Year Award.
Basil McCrea MLA and UUP Spokeoperson for education who attended the event said "I am proud to be attending this award ceremony, and am deeply impressed by the hard work and efforts of Mrs McGeown and Mrs McGurk for Drumglass High. Those in the cleaning industry are the unsung heroes of day to day life and I am pleased that the BICSs has gone to such great length to recognise those who are very rarely commended.
BICSs is able to operate as an educational body to assist those within this sector who would want to expand their job opportunities, or advance their careers; offering basic cleaning certificates right through to 3rd level education opportunities.
Education should be available for everyone, and the BICSs dedicated efforts are enhancing local people's prospects, and regulating the industry so that schools like Drumglass High can continue to offer the meticulous standard for our children and young people that they do"
