Mount Charles scoops The Fast Growth Business Award at Aer Lingus Viscount Awards

Mount Charles, the market leader in catering, cleaning, security and vending services for business, industry, retail, education, government and healthcare organisations across the UK and Ireland, has been awarded The Fast Growth Business Award at the 2017 Aer Lingus Viscount Awards.

The awards, which took place in the exquisite surroundings of the Institute of Directors’ headquarters in London, and in association with Ulster Business, have become one of the most respected events on the Northern Ireland business calendar.

Established in 1988 and now employing over 2,000 staff in 150 locations across the UK and Ireland, Mount Charles has achieved 37% and 72% growth in revenue and employment figures respectively within the past three years.

Commenting on the award, Managing Director Cathal Geoghegan said: “The Fast Growth category is a brand new category for the Viscount Awards and Mount Charles is honoured to be the inaugural recipient.

“We have experienced significant growth in recent years, doubling our revenue from £17.5 million in 2012 to £35 million today.

“Our aim is to achieve £50 million by 2020 and I have no doubt that with continued diversification in the ROI and GB markets, and most importantly continued engagement and enthusiasm from our incredible staff, that we will reach that milestone.”

Andrea Hunter, Business Development Manager of Aer Lingus in Northern Ireland said: “We were hugely impressed again by the calibre of this year’s entrants and while only seven companies left as Aer Lingus Viscount Award winners, the judges agreed that the immense talent and success of the companies present in the room was outstanding. “

  • Aer Lingus Viscount Award for Overall Excellence - Allstate

Mount Charles also recently won the award for ‘Best Business Premises’ at the Belfast Business Awards for its new headquarters Annon House, which was officially opened in December after a £1.6 million investment.
